PRAISE REPORTS FROM THE PROJECT NEXT LEVEL PROGRAM ā€“ PASTOR CHIGUMBA RONALD, TRANSCENDENT LIFE CHURCH, ZIMBABWE

What really impacted us is that we never approached Church Growth as a project. We had left that knowledge to business and other issues in life, never once considering its application in ministry. What Project Next Level has taught us is that effective project management gives us repeatable processes, guidelines and techniques to help us manage the flock of God and the work involved in evangelizing our community. It immediately delivered success and helped us to deliver our project next level results consistently, efficiently, on time and on budget. What Project Next Level showed us is that truly Church growth is not a miracle but the application of revealed principles and means. Church growth is largely an administrative issue and the application of prayer. For instance, simple principles such as goal setting can have a profound impact on ministry. We had underestimated the importance of goal setting. Through this program, we derived the following benefits from goal setting:

  • Goals provided a direction and a destination for our work.
  • Goals created clearer focus on what is important thereby making us more efficient.
  • Goals created greater clarity in decision-making.
  • Goals also gave us control over circumstances; thereby, giving us control over the future growth of our ministry.
  • Goals created a sense of motivation and urgency.
  • Goals gave us a clear sense of purpose in ministry.
  • Goals produced that elusive growth we had no idea how to achieve.

Our membership strength before Project Next Level was 30 members. Our ministry had stagnated at that level for 2 years and we were ignorantly waiting on God for a miracle. Through Project Next level, our membership strength has doubled to 60 members in three months and we have a more focused approach to ministry. What I found to be most transformative is the cell system, the first timer’s ministry and the very powerful effect of Foundation School classes.

Growth came because we structured ourselves for growth; we built within our systems the capacity for more souls. Project Next Level taught us that structured growth within our systems is critical for the effective execution of church growth. Project Next Level also showed us that people will never produce what they have not been trained to produce. Growth is not possible without continuous training which we have scheduled for every two months to ensure the things we have learnt are woven into the fabric of our ministry. We have also given ourselves to meeting for intercessory prayers for four hours every two weeks, as well as participating in the ISM prayers between 5 a.m and 6 a.m every morning.

We are working on applying these same principles in the remaining months of the year with the goal of exceeding 100 in membership within the remaining months of the year. Our testimony is that we have done in two months what we couldn’t do in two years. As a result, I have two colleagues who want to join ISM. Thank you to our man of God Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, our ISM Director Pastor Deola Phillips and the whole ISM team. God bless you.
