A WORD FOR YOU - 3 KINDS OF WISDOM
The reason for failure in life or why many people never attain to the level of success that God intended for them is the lack of wisdom.
There are three kinds of wisdom revealed to us in God's Word, which if a man would take a hold of and live by, he would walk in extraordinary levels of success and victory.
In Colossians 2:1, the Bible tells us, "For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge".
The word 'wisdom' used in this scripture is from the Greek word 'Sophia' which means "insight into reality". This means all the collective understanding of all things and information that you could mentally assemble. This wisdom gives you insight beyond the description of the senses. This is the first kind of wisdom - Sophia, and it is the wisdom of God.
In Ephesians 3:4, the Apostle Paul declares, "For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby when you read, you will understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ).
The word knowledge used in this scripture is from the Greek word "Sunesis". Sunesis refers to a special kind of comprehension, perception, or understanding. It is the ability to understand concepts and see relationships between them. Sunesis suggests a quickness apprehension; the penetrating consideration which precedes actions. This is that knowledge or understanding of certain facts; the knowledge of certain things within you. This is the second kind of wisdom from God.
The scripture in St. Lukes' Gospel 1: 17, shows us the third kind of wisdom. "And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."
The word 'wisdom' used here is the Greek word 'Phronesis'. This is the third kind and highest kind of wisdom. Phronesis is a mindset; that is, a fixed mental attitude or a disposition that predetermines a person's responses to situations. Phronesis is also translated as "prudence" and could also be called "practical wisdom".
As a child of God, all of the wisdom of God has been made available to you. If you would give attention to the Word, and the ministry of the Holy Spirit in your life, you'd find that you would begin to function in the wisdom of God at different levels and you'd live a more effective and prosperous life.
