For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Our God is gracious and kind. His love for man is beyond human comprehension; it's love without limits. John 15:13 says, "Greater Love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
The Lord Jesus laid down His life for us, like no one ever did. He was divine and without sin; yet, He became the sin-sacrifice, offered up for the sins of the world. He was crucified for His own will in the place of others. Think about it: He took our place of sin on the Cross, so that we might take His place of righteousness: "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him" (2nd Corinthians 5:21)
How do you describe such love that made Him die for sinners-the criminals, murderers, robbers, etc? He came, lived, worked wonders, died and resurrected, all for the love of man. Everything He did was for the love of man. He declared His purpose for coming in John 10:10; it was so that man may have life and have it to the full. The life He's given us is the one of blessings, joy and pleasure forevermore.
Now, as a result of what Jesus did, we're holy and without blame before the Father in love. We can boldly stand in the presence of God without guilt, inferiority or condemnation. You don't have to feel insecure or uncertain about your stand with God. Be bold, confident, assured and glad that you belong to Him; that He brought you into oneness with Himself. Hallelujah.
No matter where you've been, what you've done, how deep in sin you think you've been, you don't have to run from God. He said in Isaiah 1:8, "...though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." Embrace His love. Trust Him with your life. Perhaps you've never been born again, this is your moment.
"If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest. 29 Take the yoke I give you. Put it on your shoulders and learn from me. I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest. This yoke is easy to bear, and this burden is light."
In the book of Genesis: After God saw that all He had created was very good, pleasant, and excellent in every way, He ceased from His work and rested on the seventh day. That seventh day would be man's first day. When he awakened, he found that everything was ready. There was nothing left for man to do except to enjoy what had been created, take care of them, and appreciate his Creator. This was a shadow of the Sabbath and rest for God's people. When you are born again, you are born into His rest (Hebrews 4:9-10).
There're people who perpetually live a life of struggle. They hardly ever accomplish a goal without a brawl with the devil. They always had to fight their way through life, they had to fight intense "spiritual battles" before they could gain admission into a university. When it was time to graduate, the conditions were just as difficult and they had to fight the same kind of battles. Getting a job after school was the same story. Finding a spouse and raising kids weren't any different. This has been their experience from childhood to adulthood, their lives have been an endless string of hardships and difficulties. Something is wrong.
When you become born again and filled with the Holy Spirit, you begin to live a life of endless joy and rest, where you heap success upon success through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Embrace the stress-free life in Christ. He said in Matthew 11:28, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." "For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his" (Hebrews 4:10). This becomes the reality of your life.
The Lord Jesus didn't whip the devil to leave us still "fighting" and struggling our way through life. His vicarious sacrifice in our behalf, and His work to give us the victory were complete. So, give your heart to Christ and accept His Word today. Accept the life of joy, peace and glory that He's made available for you.
“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Mark 8:36
Many people live their lives as though this world is where it all ends; but there’s a life hereafter. Even if God gave you two hundred years to live in this world, it would still be over some day. After all, he gave some over nine hundred years to live in Bible days, but they still died and left this world. It doesn’t matter how many years you live on earth, what matters is whether or not you lived in the righteousness of God, glorifying Him with your life.
The Lord Jesus said in Mathew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” If all you do with your years on earth is to seek to make yourself happy, and fulfill your own dreams, that’ll be an empty life. You must be born-again!
Our life in this world isn’t essentially for this world; you’re in this world to decide where and how you’ll live in eternity. The despots and dictators of yesteryears thought they would live forever in this world, so they built kingdoms and stored up fortunes for themselves; but today, they’ve taken their place in eternity. No wonder Jesus asked the thought-provoking question: “what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”
If a man had all the fame and glamour in the world, and lived and died without Christ, what would that be, compared to the anguish of living eternally in hell? Life on earth is short; while eternity is all that matters. The time to receive Jesus is NOW!
“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all” (1 Timothy 2:5-6)
God’s Word is absolutely crystal about the man, Christ Jesus: who He is, our conviction of His personality, origin, and purpose. There’s no other way for human beings to receive salvation and be reconciled to God except by Jesus Christ.
He’s the one who bridges the gap and makes friendship and peace between God and men. Acts 4:12 says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
Man had become alienated from the life of God through Adam’s transgression, and Jesus is the only one that can reconcile you with the Father in the body of His flesh through death and present you holy, blameless and above reproach to the Father. He gave Himself as the payment for you: He paid what you owed, that you could never pay.
Accept Jesus Christ to be the Lord of your life today because there’s no salvation in any other name!
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27)
The words of Jesus are so comforting! He makes it clear that under no circumstances should you allow your heart be troubled, because when He comes into your life to be the Lord of your life, He fills your life with His peace.
The peace you have in Jesus Christ is not the peace of being quiet from disturbance, but peace without agitation, fill of rest and prosperity. In Jesus, you have peace - not fleeting peace - but eternal peace with prosperity. Not only will He give you peace, He will also bring you into peace with God: “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1). Jesus brings you into oneness with God; therefore, after accepting Jesus as the Lord of your life, no more enmity between you and God. (Ephesians 2:14-15).
